Quotes from Roy Masters Contributed by Donna Miles
Tribulations that we might have prevented through wise
and honorable choices may finally teach us to become
wise and honorable.
A man should offer his wife a new kind of security. It
is the security of her knowing that he is loyal for love's
sake, good for goodness sake, and not just a bee after
the honey.
Just as impaatience is the primitive energy of pride, so
is patience the "force" behind humility.
Willingness to believe the Truth is to live the Truth.
A pure intent opens the portals of the soul in such a way
that only good can pass but no evil can enter.
Truth is not in words, but in the understanding of what
they say.
The love we seek comes more from loving others than
from being loved.
You may not be able to say what good is, but you will
know when you have strayed from it by a pain in your
soul that you feel as conscience.
Destiny is not a matter of chance but of inevitable
consequences of our choices.
The only reaching of man's heart is through love, which
is the middle ground of discretion. It does not attack
nor defend, but makes others ashamed by its nobility,
virtue, patience; and above all, by its complete
indifference in response to antagonism and temptation.
Life is a series of conquests. Water is a threat until
you can swim; then it is a joy. Each achievement
develops increasing strength to conquer greater stress.
Love is to risk friendship by telling the truth because
you care about their soul.
It is how you deal with failure that makes you a
success.
True, stress can cause death, but when you meet it
properly you grow stronger, both in body and in spirit.
It is a man's lack of commitment to what is right--his
lack of courage to resist what his selfish ego needs--
that is the real problem.
To perceive the truth about evil is the first step toward
being saved from its power.
If you can bear humiliation without resenting it, it will
turn into humility, and humility will lead to salvation.
Staying in the moment and watching without judgement,
makes hell go away. No evil can stand to be observed
by innocence.
Listening to what conscience is trying to tell us about
our problems, is the beginning of truly listening to God.
Once you become objective to the grandiose delusions
of your earthly mind you will be subjective to the
heavenly mind.
Pride always uses distraction as a means of escaping
the keen observation of conscience.
True love is innocent and free, no strings attached. It
gives and goes merrily on its way.
The soul is a room that is never vacant. If good does
not live there, evil does, and that is the pure and simple
truth.
We pray for courage, then danger comes so that
courage might be.
We ask for wisdom, but receive trouble, so that wisdom
might come.
We pray for love, but receive torment, so that love will
reply.
If you were able to face the world calmly, without
resentment, nothing could move you off center or
threaten your self-respect.
Meditation bring you back to the present moment, to the
now, where the Truth lives always, where we can
experience His presence, where He can take our sins
upon Himself and give us back our bright nature to
bond with His purity.
The Truth does not bind nor control by any form of compulsive
response. You can change the outward "motion" of
people by force, but never their inner motive.
